Day 2 Begins!
Evening Hackers!
We did it! Day one is done for Seattle’s first ever Social Justice Hackathon! We pitched, we played, we made some great progress! Now it’s time to get our hands dirty and start building prototypes and preparing presentations.
We will see you bright and early at 9am - where we will provide a light breakfast in the C7 Conference room.
Note: There will be a test going on in the building until noon. Teams should work mainly in breakout rooms so as not to disturb our fellow neighbors.
Mentors and coaches will be on the premises throughout the day. If you need help, from legal to technical problems, find someone with a white shirt - we’ll set you up!
For those wondering about the prize, we have been working with our community sponsors and partners to provide mentorship and extra resources to get the winning projects off the ground! In addition to a “Demo Day” in January, our organizing staff will connect the top 3 teams with additional development and business resources. More details will be provided to the winners. A special prize will be announced to all as well.
On our HackPad page, we have added a section at the bottom to enter your team details. We will be promoting our hard working teams on our social media accounts throughout the event. This is a great way to promote your product and get some buzz around your ideas, so don’t forget to enter your details!
Don’t forget that we’re all over the web @SSJHackathon - use #SSJH to tag your posts and photos and we’ll retweet them!
For instant messaging throughout the event, join our Slack channel. If you can’t get a hold of us on there or in person, you can call out myself (@daniel-admin) or Miguel (@miguelwillis)
Last but not least…
DON'T FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR DEVPOST IN ORDER TO SUBMIT YOUR PROJECTS! http://ssjhackathon.devpost.com/ - Projects are Due at 6pm! No Exceptions.
Good luck tomorrow and happy hacking!
